Book Releases I’m Excited About For 2018

It’s strange to go and put 2018 instead of 2017! But since it is almost the end of the year, I thought I would just bring you some of the books I am excited to read next year. The thing is, this is a whole list of all the books that are being released in 2018. Maybe I’ll go and make another list… Anyway, maybe I can give you some books you want to read next year. Let’s just dive into this post since I feel like I am rambling on.

And as a little side note – All of the information below is prone to be changed. While I was writing this, this is the most up to date information on the book. The publishers could always go and change the release or the page numbers.

Cassandra Clare

About the Author: Cassandra Clare was born overseas and spent her early years traveling around the world with her family and several trunks of fantasy books. Cassandra worked for several years as an entertainment journalist for the Hollywood Reporter before turning her attention to fiction. She is the author of City of Bones, the first book in the Mortal Instruments trilogy and a New York Times bestseller. Cassandra lives with her fiance and their two cats in Massachusetts.

Why I Want to Read This Book: After reading Lord of Shadows, I have been needing this book in my life. I just can’t believe that I have to wait like a year still before this book comes out. Cassandra Clare must be trying to kill me because she knows how excited I am for this. This is going to be so epic and I will more than likely cry because I have cried in almost every other ending to a series. And this cover!? I mean, I love the cover but at the same time, I don’t just because it is so different from the other ones so. You know what I mean?

A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3.5)

Title: A Court of Frost and Starlight

Author: Sarah J. Maas

Publisher: Bloomsbury

Release: May 1, 2018

Pages: 256 (Hardback)

Narrated by Feyre and Rhysand, this story bridges the events in A Court of Wings and Ruin and the upcoming spinoff novels.
Feyre, Rhys, and their close-knit circle of friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can’t keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated—scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.

About the Author: Sarah lives in Bucks County, PA, and over the years, she has developed an unhealthy appreciation for Disney movies and bad pop music. She adores fairy tales and ballet, drinks too much tea, and watches an ungodly amount of TV. When she’s not busy writing, she can be found exploring the historic and beautiful Pennsylvania countryside with her husband and canine companion.

Why I Want to Read This Book: I think that it is important to note that this is NOT the 4th book in this series. This is a novella but not a novella. It was written as a bridge between A Court of Wings and Ruin and the 4th book. But I could care less because of two reasons: 1- Rhysand and 2- Sarah J. Maas wrote the book. I am so excited to go and read this book because I know how amazing this book is going to be. Though, this is probably the smallest book that Sarah has ever written.

And now that there is a virtual signing with this book on Good Choice Reads and it might be on my Christmas list so I’m so excited. But this world is just so different from all the other books that I have read so I can’t wait to dive into it. And plus, the cover of this book is drop-dead gorgeous.

She graduated from the University of Southern California in 2006 and lives in Los Angeles, California.

Why I Want to Read This Book: Something you may or may not know about me is my knowledge of Superheros, DC Icons, or whatever you call them. You want to know my knowledge? ….. That is all I know. I AM CLUELESS. But I feel like reading these books, written by some of my favorite authors will really help with my knowledge. I can’t wait to read this book just because I feel like these novels will complement each other so nicely.

She adores fairy tales and ballet, drinks too much tea, and watches an ungodly amount of TV. When she’s not busy writing, she can be found exploring the historic and beautiful Pennsylvania countryside with her husband and canine companion.

Why I Want to Read This Book: Big shocker that this book made it onto my list. One of the big reasons that I wanted to read this series is because of Sarah J. Maas’ novel. I love her writing so how could she mess up a book I know nothing about? Since I heard Marie Lu talk about this in 2016, I have been dying to read this book. Plus, she is doing Catwomen and how in the world could you mess her up? But it is Sarah J. Maas and even if I read this book completely confused, I will love it and probably cry in it.

Charlie is desperate for one last perfect weekend, before the house is sold and everything changes. The house will be filled with jokes and games and laughs again. Hollywood

Title: Hollywood

Author: Keegan Allen

Publisher: St. Martin’s Press

Release: April 24, 2018

Pages: — (Hardback)

The actor, photographer, and bestselling author reveals the Hollywood we see–and the one we don’t–with a photography narrative featuring more than 250 emotionally charged color and black and white photos.
Keegan Allen is a Hollywood native, growing up in a world that millions visit and many more imagine. With an avid fan base that follows him on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and a busy career that includes seven years on the hit series Pretty Little Liars as well as films directed by James Franco and Gia Coppola, Allen also is a lifelong photographer whose first book, life.love.beauty, was a national bestseller.
Now Keegan turns his eye and camera to the place he knows best. Hollywood captures the beauty and glamour of the place itself–with unusual angles of the famous sign, the glint of sidewalk stars stamped into the entrance of the Grauman’s TCL Chinese Theater in the rain, the Chateau Marmont at twilight, secret local hideaways, red carpets and more–but also the darker side of dreams unrealized in the faces, hands, eyes, and footsteps of those who live on the fringe of celebrity. His photos are enhanced by revealing, intimate captions, lyrics, and other writing, as well as hand-drawn illustrations, exciting parodies, and iconic emulations. A book that will engage and surprise Keegan’s legions of fans and followers, Hollywood is an essential gift for anyone who has visited or imagined this storied place.

About the Author:  Keegan Phillip Allen is an American actor, photographer, and musician. Allen is known for his main role as Toby Cavanaugh on the Freeform series Pretty Little Liars.

Why I Want to Read This Book: This year, I read Keegan Allen’s photography book called life.love.beauty and loved it. It was so beautiful and just so amazing to dive into the life of one of my favorite screen actors. When I found out that he was writing/putting together a book, I couldn’t help but want to get my hands on it. Plus, he does so many book tour stops that I can’t wait to go and see if he comes to North Carolina. I would be so happy if he does.

Although she is determined to look forward and not behind, life in the world above is not as easy as Liesl had hoped. Her younger brother Josef is cold, distant, and withdrawn, while Liesl can’t forget the austere young man she left beneath the earth, and the music he inspired in her.
When troubling signs arise that the barrier between worlds is crumbling, Liesl must return to the Underground to unravel the mystery of life, death, and the Goblin King—who he was, who he is, and who he will be. What will it take to break the old laws once and for all? What is the true meaning of sacrifice when the fate of the world—or the ones Liesl loves—is in her hands?

About the Author: S. Jae-Jones, called JJ, is an artist, an adrenaline junkie, and the author of Wintersong, forthcoming from Thomas Dunne in February 2017.
Born and raised in sunny Los Angeles, she lived in New York City for ten years before relocating down to Dixie, where she is comfortably growing fat on grits and barbecue. When not writing, she can be found rock climbing, skydiving, taking photographs, drawing pictures, and dragging her dog on ridiculously long hikes.

Why I Want to Read This Book: When I read the first book in the series, I had some pretty mixed emotions about the ending. But since I heard there was a second book, I thought that there was a good chance that this could make up for the first book. I want to read this book but I don’t. I’m excited about it but I’m not. Plus, I am in love with this cover that I can’t help but be attracted to it.
