How To Be Single | Movie Review

There are days in our house that my parents want to watch a movie. I was out in the living on a Sunday and we still had like 2 hours or something til Game of Thrones was on. We were going through the list of all the movies we could watch and we came across this one. I have heard that it was really good so we all decided to watch the movie. Let’s just say that things took a different turn. Just go on and read this spoiler free review of this movie.

Alice is also lucky enough to befriend outgoing, partier Robin who gets Alice out there. But there is so much going on that Alice doesn’t know what to think. With Meg trying to get pregnant and just breaking up with Josh, she doesn’t know if she wants to take Robin’s offer up. But Robin does not give up. Robin will do everything in her power to show Alice how to have a good time.

I could have lived without watching this movie. I just didn’t see what was so fabulous about this movie. Yes, I had a few good laughs but for the most part, it was pretty stupid and made no sense. Alice just broke up with her boyfriend and moves in with her sister. That makes some sense. But I felt like the whole thing was around Alice and Meg while there were many more characters we could have followed. If you look at the cover image, there are 4 girls and not just two.

There was basically nothing to these characters. They were just so out there that I sort of think the writers forgot to create them. They had their basic background information but that was really it. There was no character changes through the movie. They really had no emotions or the actresses and actors really had no expressions on their face. Quite honestly, I didn’t even care for the cast. Most of these cast members are people I haven’t really enjoyed their acting. I thought maybe after this movie my opinion of these actors and actresses would change for the good but they really just grew on my ‘not to watch’ list. Which may or may not be a real list.

This wasn’t Christian Ditter’s first rodeo. But sure did it feel like it. Yeah, the directing of this movie was very poor. The lighting was bad. The audio was bad. The placement of things drove me crazy. Maybe this explains why I didn’t like Girl Boss. Christian Ditter is also the director of Love, Rosie and it makes me question my need to watch that movie. I just thought that Ditter would get into the movie a little more and actually make it funny or even half decent.

I have read several reviews and almost all women love this movie. Hi there! I am a woman and I hated this movie. It was the worse. The writing made no sense and there was no flow to the whole thing. I really regret watching this movie now. I will say, I had some good laughs through the movie though. There were times I found myself laughing to death because of something that happened. The writing just wasn’t there. There were so many things I was planning on seeing happen but it never happened. It was almost like the writers didn’t know what all they wanted for this movie. The time jumps were crazy along with the crazy character developments. There was nothing amazing about this movie.

Overall, I would have to give this movie a 2 out of 5. It is hard for me to believe I sat through this movie. I’m glad that I got the chance to watch the movie since I had been wanting to watch it so I’m glad that we didn’t pay for it. Now I just know that I don’t like any movie with any of these cast members. If you are interested in this movie, go ahead and watch the movie since you might be able to enjoy it.

Have you watched this movie? Did you enjoy it? What was your favorite part? Who was your favorite character? Do you agree with anything I said? What was the last movie you watched? Was it any good? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
