The 100 (Season 3) | TV Show Review

I watch some pretty weird TV Shows. I know that for real now. My mom kept telling me I did and I am finally admitting it. But these weird shows are so good! I just finished season 3 of The 100 (duh) and you know, you might be learning about all this weirdness now because I am reviewing it. And I can’t promise you that there aren’t any spoilers because they are coming. So are the tears.

My Review:

Jaha thought he was going to find the City of Light when he went on his adventure. But it turns out he did more than that. Jaha has found A.L.I.E., who is this robotic women who was created right before the end of the world. Jaha learns that the way to get into the City of Light is to take this key, where it has the brain taken by A.L.I.E. Now A.L.I.E. is trying to take over the land and it is up to Clarke and her friends to fix the problem. But the thing is, Clarke is missing. No one knows where she is and no matter how hard the look, they can’t find her. Will they be able to find Clarke and destroy A.L.I.E. before A.L.I.E. destroys them?

First Finn dies in season 2. Now Lincoln dies? Why does this show hate me so much. I was in tears for about ten minutes because of it. And I hate the fact that Octavia had to watch Pike go and kill Lincoln broke my heart. But this lead me to the big this of how this show provokes so many emotions. There is hatred through it. There is love, anger, peace, etc that I can’t help but love it. On top of Lincoln’s death, we also had Lexa die and I lost it even more. And the crew had to kill me even more when they had to bring Lexa back into the plot during the final episode of the season when Clarke went to the City of Light. This show did something to my insides.

Other than the fact that the writers decided to go and kill Lexa and Lincoln, I really liked the writing of the season. I mean the show is already strange enough, which is why I continue to watch it, but these writers keep doing a better job with writing this show. There are times that I don’t like characters (hint hint Raven and Jaha) but there are times that I love them. I got sucked into the show with the relationships or the events that were taking place through the show. I needed to know how they were going to stop A.L.I.E., despite how annoying she was, and I needed to know when Bellamy and Clarke were going to get together, even though they have yet to do so. There were times where I didn’t like some of the choices they made and how long a certain process was taking, like when Clarke was told to switch the kill switch but A.L.I.E. was there being very annoying.

Since most of the show takes place outdoors or rundown buildings, I thought the director and the crew did a pretty good job with all of that. Everything seemed so real, like it could be real. The building that was in Polis looked like it could have been centuries old and survived the radiation. I also thought that they did a pretty good job introducing the new season’s main topic: radiation. It started with the key when Clarke was trying to stop A.L.I.E. I thought that was a perfect way to end the season to make the viewers want to watch the next season, which happened to me. The editing was done really nicely when it came to the Flame and all the tentacles as I called it. It was very nicely done.

Despite how weird this show is, I want to keep watching this show because I need to know what continues on with their story. I get the feeling that Jasper is going to eventually kill himself because he misses Maia so much and anyone who comes close to him. As I said before, I am still waiting for Bellamy and Clarke to get together even though Clarke seems to like girls a little more. This show reminds me so much of Game of Thrones and that might be one of the reasons I keep watching it.

The characters in this show continue to grow almost every episode even though it has been three seasons. After Lexa’s death, we saw Clarke grow so much. We saw Murphy grow a lot through almost everything he went through. That’s one of the reasons I love Murphy so much. Through the whole key situation and after everything, you saw so many people change through it. The key took their pain and they only knew what happiness was. And A.L.I.E. Jaha went mad because of it. Monty killed his own mother. This crew did so well with the development that I couldn’t help but appreciate it.

Overall, I would have to give Season 3 of The 100 a good 4 out of 5. There were times that I really didn’t care but those were rare. I loved the direction the show is going and how deep we are getting with some of the characters. Minus the fact of how annoying A.L.I.E. might be, I think this would be my favorite season so far. Despite the deaths of Lexa and Lincoln, we know these characters will live on forever. I’m excited to see how Clarke is able to save the world yet again from the radiation that will be killing these people.

Have you watched The 100? Which season was your favorite? Did you find A.L.I.E. as annoying as I did? Do you ship any couple that aren’t together? Whose death hit you the hardest? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Happy Reading,

  1. The 100 is one of my favorite shows right now, and I can’t wait for the next season to start! You need to watch Season 4 which is even better than S3 in my opinion. I also can’t wait until Bellamy and Clarke get together hahahah I love those two so much 😍😍 I think that S1 is my favorite out of the 4, because everything was simpler, and I loved seeing the delinquents together, although S4 is really good as well.

    1. I just finished Season 4 and it is even better than Season 3! The way that s4 ended was so interesting that I need the next season right now. I need to see who else is alive because I don’t want to spend a whole episode in tears because of someone’s death!

      1. Me too!! I can’t wait for the next season to come out, I really hope we get to see a bit of what happened during those 6 years though. Hahahah same, I really don’t think I can handle another main character dying :/ season 3 had enough of that (still not over Lincoln’s death) and I can’t wait until Bellamy and Clarke get reunited on Earth. I will DIE 😱😱

        1. I don’t think I will ever be over Lincoln’s death. Or Lexa’s. I really hope we get to see what happens in the past 6 years in season 5 because I need to know what happened! All I know is that the actor that played Jaha isn’t coming back for s5, and I am sort of really happy about that. And if there is nothing that happens between Bellamy and Clarke when he gets back to Earth, I am going to loose it.
